Raceview Soccer Club

Raceview Soccer Club is a great family oriented community club for all ages from 3 years to Over 40’s.  Raceview Soccer Club is a community club where everyone feels valued, safe, cared for and respected whilst improving their skills and having fun.

We strive to achieve this through providing a safe and supportive environment for both players and families. We create a club culture that has a sense of being valued, cared for and being listened to.

We want our players to learn respect for themselves, teammates, officials and other teams. Soccer provides a perfect tool to learn from disappointments, create resilience as well as graciousness and humility.

Serving Our Soccer Community Since 1973

Raceview Soccer Club started in the 1973 season. We are one of the longest continually active community soccer clubs in Ipswich. Our club has a proud history over the years of providing an opportunity for our players to enjoy their football experience on and off the fields and our supporters on the sidelines have made lifelong friendships.

Club StatementAfter an incident that occurred during a match last week around photographs being taken during a match against the wishes of some parents, the club announced this morning a zero policy of no photography – video or still being allowed during six a side games this season. This was done to respect the wishes of parents who for various reasons did not want images of their children on social media pages they are not involved with. This decision was not made lightly and with good intentions including respecting parents’ wishes. This has certainly created “spirited” debate over whether the club can make this rule and deny the wishes of parents wanting to take photos of their children participating. The club has listened to all sides of the discussion. The club will now make the following concession to those parents who wish to take photographs or video in this season’s six a side games: “respecting people’s privacy, that individuals must obtain permission from a child’s parent/guardian before taking an image of a child who is not their own and ensure that the parent knows how the image will be used.” To explain, if you are planning on taking photographs in a game, then you need to seek permission from parents/guardians of all players. And parents who do not give permission should not have photographs that include their child taken. The club does understand how important it is for families to capture memories of their children playing a sport they love. We have made this concession to allow parents the opportunity to create those memories while also respecting the privacy and safety of all players. Our goal has always been to provide a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for all our players and families.End. ...
